This coffee is sourced from the distinguised Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia that originates from the smallholder producers in the microregion of Halo Berity. It is also processed at the Nenke Washing Station.

Farmers in Ethiopia’s notable coffee producing regions, faced challenges such as climate change and pests like the Coffee Berry Borer, as well as market fluctuations and high costs. To face these challenges, these farmers work with agricultural agents on projects such as replanting with sustainable crops and fair pricing. Soil health is well preserved through composting and shade tree planting to support environmental sustainability and coffee quality. Farmers usually depend on natural pest management and fertilization techniques due to the high costs of formal certification.

This coffee is naturally processed, where cherries are collected from farms and taken to a washing station for sorting. Next, they are dried on raised beds until they achieve the desired moisture level. Once they are dried, beans will be transported to a dry mill near Addis Ababa. Machineries are involved to remove foreign objects like metal and stones. After which, the parchment and silver skin are polished off. Sorting by size and quality to check for any defective beans. Lastly, colour sorters and manual inspection are done to ensure that the coffee meets quality standards.
